FAW - First Aid at Work

(3 days)

The FAW (First Aid at Work) is a 3 day (18 teaching hours) course covering the following:

Day 1

  • What is First Aid

  • First Aid Kits and other Responsibilities

  • CPR including AED (Defibrillator)

  • Choking

  • Seizures

  • Unconscious, Breathing Casualty

  • Shock

  • Bleeding

  • Minor Burns and Scalds

  • Written Assessment

Day 2

  • Recap from Day 1

  • Breathing Issues

  • Heart Attack

  • Shock Related Conditions

  • Poisoning

  • Head Injuries including Spinal Injuries

  • Bone, Joint and Muscle Injuries

  • Stroke

  • Scenario Work

Day 3

  • Burns

  • Diabetes

  • Effects of the Heat and Cold

  • Child & Baby CPR and Choking

  • Scenario Work

  • Final Assessment

A relevant First Aid manual is included and on successful completion of the course & assessments, an A4 certificate will be awarded.
